NH Scenic Overlooks You Can Access By Car

C.L. Graham Wangan Overlook

Town: Bartlett, NH

The C.L. Graham Overlook is located directly off the Kancamangus Scenic Byway and offers an incredible view of the Swift River Watershed and mountains to the north and east. There is a large paved parking area along with a covered pavilion.


Pemigewasset Overlook

Town: Lincoln

When traveling along the Kancamagus Scenic Byway, the Pemigewasset Overlook is a must-stop spot for anyone looking to soak in a breathtaking view from the comfort of your own vehicle. A covered pavilion provides interpretive signing describing the views and surrounding peaks. The parking lot is located near the height of land on the Kancamagus Highway.


Sugar Hill Scenic Vista

Town: Lincoln

Sugar Hill Scenic Vista offers a panoramic view of the Swift River Valley and surrounding mountains. There is a paved parking lot (it is not plowed during the winter months) as well as a variety of signs describing the landscape and forest management in the White Mountain National Forest. This is an excellent spot to stop and check out the fall colors during peak foliage season.


Hancock Overlook

Town: Lincoln, NH

The Hancock Trailhead is located on the Kancamagus Highway (NH Rte. 112) at Hancock Overlook, the westernmost view area on the scenic byway, just uphill of a sharp turn. This is also a trailhead parking lot for hikers looking to hike the Hancocks.


Rocky Gorge Scenic Area

Town: Albany

This beautiful scenic area is accessed via a paved walkway from a parking area where rest rooms are available. There is a foot bridge that leads you over the gorge that provides photo opportunities looking upstream.


Intervale Scenic Vista

Town: North Conway

Soak in the iconic view of Mount Washington at the Scenic Vista on Route 16 in Intervale, NH. There is also a visitors center stocked with tons of information on all there is to do in the Mount Washington Valley, making it a great stop for a family photo or to enjoy a picnic at the picnic tables with the white mountains as your backdrop.
